Building Construction Manager
22 Years in Service

Question #1

What made you choose to build your career at CCT?

When I first joined CCT, I never imagined that I would build my career here. Looking back now, I can hardly believe that I have been with the company for almost 23 years—nearly half of my life—as I am now 50 years old.

Perhaps the reason I stayed is because of the many challenges and opportunities I encountered along the way. Throughout my journey, I have served as a Supervisor, Purchasing Chief, Japan trainee, and In-Charge, and I was even given the opportunity to
work abroad. Each role helped me grow both professionally and personally.

Most importantly, I would not have reached this point without the trust, guidance, encouragement, and support of my local senior managers and Toyo Japanese managers. They believed in my abilities, challenged me to improve, and stood by me throughout my career. They have truly been the “wind beneath my wings.”

Question #3

In one word, how would you describe CCT’s approach to work culture, and why?

If I were to describe it in one word, I’d say Commendable – The company is highly commendable for responding promptly and addressing issues thoroughly while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Question #4

How has working within CCT’s blend of Filipino teamwork and Japanese standards helped you grow or adapt in your career?

Working on projects with Japanese colleagues can sometimes be challenging, as they place strong emphasis on schedules and even the smallest details, particularly when it comes to workplace safety and security.

As I continued working through these experiences, I gradually came to understand their reasons and way of thinking and working. Over time, I recognized that this meticulous mindset has helped broaden my understanding of construction, especially in areas such

as safety, scheduling, and site organization.

Because of this exposure and learning, I was able to grow beyond my initial perspective as a local Filipino engineer and develop a more global and disciplined approach to construction work.

Question #5

How do you use your department's specialized tools and planning processes to drive project accuracy before and during construction?

We may not have specialized tools or advanced planning systems to ensure project accuracy. However, what we rely on is the discipline, commitment, and sense of responsibility of every engineer on site in carrying out their duties effectively.

Question #6

As we look toward the future, what upcoming milestones or technical challenges get you most excited?

As I approach retirement from the construction industry, what gives me hope and excitement for the future is the young engineers I often refer to as “the future of CCT.” In their eyes, I see a strong desire to learn and a genuine thirst for knowledge. Through them, I believe a new and stronger CCT will emerge.
